Project Summary

The Interreg project KulturImpuls SIAT aims to sustainably strengthen cross-border cultural cooperation.

The project involves the design and implementation of new bilingual cultural products that promote intercultural exchange and strengthen the shared identity in the border region.

Two new cultural products are being created as part of the project:

a bilingual volume of poetry featuring authors from both sides of the border,
contemporary cross-border artworks presented as part of a traveling exhibition.

A symposium featuring experts from the fields of art/culture, economy, education & tourism titled “Exploring the joint cross-border strengthening of cultural activities and the role of culture in society” will take place at Bildungshaus Retzhof, with the participation of the advisory board accompanying the entire project. Another project focus is the development of a bilingual digital platform. It facilitates networking for cultural practitioners, promotes the exchange of ideas and best practice examples, and makes joint cross-border cultural projects visible. At the same time, it supports their marketing. Furthermore, two training programs are being developed for the platform’s users. These convey digital skills and strengthen the ability to address different target groups in a targeted and effective manner. In the course of the project, the Atelier Retzhof is also being created in the existing garden pavilion, which is being adapted and renovated. The project concludes with the KulturImpuls Festival, which takes place simultaneously in Gornja Radgona and at Bildungshaus Retzhof. The parallel implementation makes it possible to present the cultural diversity and regional characteristics of both countries, promote cross-border exchange, and reach a wide audience on both sides of the border.

The project is funded under the Interreg Slovenia-Austria program by the European Regional Development Fund.
